Good Food Festival

It's time to celebrate one of the city's most delicious institutions as the Santa Monica Farmer's Market turns 30 years old.  The Good Food Festival kicks off Wednesday, September 14th at the market when Amelia Saltzman, author of the Santa Monica Farmer's Market Cookbook, presents cooking demonstrations featuring market-fresh produce. Events continue through the weekend and include film screenings, lectures, and how-to workshops.

Some events are free and ticket-less (the above mentioned Wed market activities) some are free but require a ticket (the Thursday night opening Symposium at Santa Monica High School) and for others tickets (for which you must pay) are required.  Click here for the complete list of events and ticket prices.

If you'd like to celebrate in high style, consider Friday night's Gala at the Annenberg Beach House.  Localicious brings together 30 of the city's best chefs, including chefs from Drago, Melisse, Animal, Josie and AOC, and 30 of the SM Market's main-stay farmers to create an amazing beach-front dinner.  The evening features a silent auction with one-of-a-kind, food related offerings. Tickets are $125, VIP tickets are $250.

The Good Food Festival wraps up with a two day Street Fair on the campus of Santa Monica High School, Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th.  This family-friendly weekend includes local experts demonstrating grow-your-own gardening basics, a food-focused book store and cooking demonstrations for local chefs. Come curious and hungry!
